Emergency Medical Services Week Open House Scheduled in KeizerSalem-News.com
(KEIZER) - The Keizer Fire District will hold its annual Emergency Medical Services Open House and Safety Fair on Monday, May 15th. The Open House and Safety Fair will be held at the District`s Fire Station at 661 Chemawa Rd. NE in Keizer from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This Open House and Safety Fair will feature the equipment and services provided by the Keizer Fire District and fourteen other agencies and organizations that provide emergency services and safety messages to area residents. Visitors can receive safety information on a variety of subjects, meet people with expertise in many life safety fields and enjoy free refreshments. Activities include the opportunity to get in a Keizer Fire District ambulance, free blood pressure checks, information on the safe installation of infant and child car seats and information on Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT). Team Safety will display the Capitol Auto Group Racing Dragster. Safety information will be provided on electrical safety, disaster preparedness and boating and water safety. A Life Flight helicopter is scheduled to land behind the station at 7:30 PM and will be on display. The Keizer Bike Advisory Committee will have a bike obstacle course. Bike helmets will be available to those children who complete the course and need one. Agencies and organizations participating in these years Open House include the American Red Cross, PGE, Salem Electric, Keizer Automotive & Towing, Keizer Police Department, Willamette Valley Communications Center (9-1-1) and Salem Hospital. Other exhibitors include the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Marion County Sheriffs Marine Patrol, Chemeketa Community College, Salem Hospital and the Doernbecher Children`s Hospital PANDA Team. Visitors to the EMS Week Open House will also be able to walk across the parking lot to the City of Keizer Shops and participate in their Open House as they celebrate National Public Works Week.
