(SALEM) - The Oregon State Fair's music lineup for 2006 should raise a few eyebrows. Huge names in entertainment will visit to perform concerts at the fair's newest venue. The live music events at the Pavilion will kick off with the "Wildman of Rock and Roll," Ted Nugent, who plays August 25th. In the 1970's era, cuts like "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Free For All" from Nugent's Double Live Gonzo album helped shape a generation.

On August 26th, 94.7 FM presents PetAid 2006, which features the Violent Femmes, Cake and The Decemberists. That show will benefit Dove Lewis, a Portland emergency pet care clinic.

A Latino artist will perform for the crowds on August 27th, that group is yet to be announced.

On August 28th, Sara Evans takes to the stage and then on August 29th, Raven Symone will entertain visitors with her popular stage act.

On September 1st, country singer Trace Adkins will play, and the last act that will take to the stage may be the biggest, The Steve Miller Band that is still going strong after three decades.

"Fly Like an Eagle," "The Joker" and "Take the Money and Run" are timeless rock songs that the Steve Miller Band is known for. The band was another shaping influence of hte 1970's and beyond.

Tickets go on sale June 2nd. Diane Childs with the Oregon State Fair says people who want to see the bands should move quickly, "With such big name artists and free parking, tickets are sure to go fast." Chlds says people seeking more information about upcoming events at the fair should visit their Website, www.oregonstatefair.org.
