(TIGARD) - The Oregon State Police Salem Area Command was selected to receive the "DUII Agency of the Year Award for the Oregon State Police" during the 10TH Annual DUII Multi-Disciplinary Impaired Driving Training Conference, held April 28th and 29th in Tigard.

The Oregon DUII Multi-Disciplinary Training Task Force presented their annual awards of excellence to various organizations, groups, and individuals who made a significant contribution to deterring impaired driving in Oregon during 2005.

It is well known we have fewer troopers on our highways now than 25 years ago and the call load increases each year," said Lieutenant Mike Peterson, OSP Salem Area Command, "The men and women of this OSP Area Command are worthy of the recognition."

Lieutenant Peterson noted that 25% of the DUII arrests for his office were made by Trooper Peter Arnautov, a seven-year OSP veteran.

Trooper Arnautov accounted for 112 DUII arrests and was the runner-up to receive the OSP's DUII Enforcement Officer-of-the-Year award presented during the conference.

Last year's OSP recipient of this award was the Newport Area Command office.
