(SALEM) - Salem Police are investigating the death of a one and a half year old boy who drowned in a bathtub Wednesday. Salem Police Lt. Dan Deitz says the boy was left in a bathtub with his two-year old sister. Deitz says the mother returned to the bathroom and quickly removed the child from the water, "The baby had no pulse, he was not breathing. The mother called 911 right away." Ambulance crews responded to the home on 8th Street NW in Salem and transported the child to the hospital. Attempts to revive the boy were not succesful. Deitz says officers are continuing their investigation while they await autopsy results.
