BREAKING NEWS: Wrong Way Driver Causes Crash on Highway 22 West of Salem

All lanes are now open. Police have yet to release any new information on the accident.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police, along with the Oregon State Police, and Salem Fire and medical units are on the scene this morning of a serious injury accident involving what police say was a wrong way driver.

Salem Police Lt. Keith A. Blair tells Salem-News.com that Highway 22W eastbound near Rosemont Ave NW is CLOSED at this time, as there are five vehicles involved in the crash. There is no word yet on injuries or the number of people involved. No arrests have yet been made.

Police are asking motorist to try an avoid the area for the next hour or two, until police are able to clear the scene.

UPDATE: All lanes are re-opened. Police have not yet released any new details on the accident.
