Man Seriously Injured in Organized Bicycle Race

31-year old Ryan Mcknab of Corvallis was transported to Silverton and was subsequently transferred to OHSU Hospital in Portland by Life Flight.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - A number of bike race competitors were injured in a crash Sunday morning near Silverton. One of the racer's injuries were serious. The collision happened in the 1100 block of Victor Point Road near Silverton around 11:30 AM.

Dave Cornforth with the Marion County Sheriff's Office , says deputies responded to the location to learn that six bicyclists, while participating in a bicycle race, collided and at least one was seriously injured.

31-year old Ryan Mcknab of Corvallis was transported to Silverton and was subsequently transferred to OHSU Hospital in Portland by Life Flight.

Cornforth says Several others also were transported to Silverton Hospital for injuries. The organized bicycle race had a number of bicyclist race participants.
