(GRESHAM, Ore. ) - The City of Gresham will begin construction to install a new water main this week on Northeast Division Street between East Burnside and Southeast Hogan Place.

The purpose of the water construction project is to replace an 8-inch water line with a larger, 16-inch line to increase water flow in the area and provide better water service to homes, businesses and fire services in the eastern part of the city.

Traffic delays are expected as crews cut pavement and lay new water pipe.

These delays include lane restrictions with limited turn movements.

Construction will take place from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Some construction may occur at night to reduce significant congestion and improve worker safety.

The construction work is expected to last until the end of June.

Businesses in the area will be open during construction
