(KEIZER) - The lifeless body of a woman was discovered in the Willamette River early Saturday morning. Both the Keizer Police Department and Keizer Fire District were dispatched to the report, after her body was observed floating in the Willamette River near the 1000 block of Rafael Avenue North inn Keizer. Officers and medical personnel arrived within minutes and recovered the woman's body. The Keizer Police Department is continuing the death investigation at this time. Additional follow-up investigation is planned for Monday, May 22nd, when an autopsy has been scheduled to identify the cause of death. Investigators do not believe foul play is involved. Many sources are running the story of a body found on the Willamette River near Rafael but nobody followed up on the circumstances or indentity. I have searched and can't find this information

Our sincere apologies are offered for an error on this story that has been corrected, mistakenly identifying the person found in the river with the name of a gentleman that died recnently who was a long-time area mechanic.
