Op-Ed: Blowing Smoke Across An American Tragedy

The Pentagon 9/11 Video is not new or recently released, though the media may just be getting wind of that. Either way, there’s no clarity through the pall, now that government watchdog groups are working with scriptwriters at the White House.

(SALEM) - `The last video clips that will be released" of the plane allegedly striking the Pentagon have now been broadcast on television. Interesting and non-climactic to those seeking answers, they are the exact same clips that were released shortly after September 11th. They show nothing new, and they do not depict a 757 airliner striking the Pentagon, only a "nose cone".

Many experts say that is because, short of hiring Spielberg to recreate the entire thing in a Hollywood studio, it isn`t possible.

The alleged 757 left behind no wreckage, but we`re still supposed to believe it crashed that day. The damage at the Pentagon is not consistent with the damage that a 757, 44 feet tall and over 120 feet wide, would have done, or any jetliner for that matter. They're counting on the public not being quick enough or bright enough, or brave enough, to question it, and so far it has worked out well for them.

A government spokesperson tries to explain it away by claiming that when it crashed, the plane became `more like liquid" and that is why the plane is gone. Titanium nine-foot engine housings do not melt, planes don`t turn into liquid. And if any of that did happen, they sure as heck couldn`t have gotten positive I.D. on 184 of the 189 people.

It is very interesting what happens in the government discussion rooms when mainstream media starts looking closely at events like the September 11th 2001 attacks. Now the group Judicial Watch has petitioned the release of the video through the Freedom of Information Act, it played on TV news, and now we can convince ourselves that it really must have been a 757.

A government watchdog group wants to prove the feds aren't lying?

Don`t believe a word of it. This is a group that was after President Bill Clinton; they are a conservative organization with a whole lot of money. They attempted to use this opportunity working in concert with the federal spinsters, to try to put the Pentagon story to rest.

Instead, they alerted Americans who have been asleep at the wheel, to the idea that lots of really credible, intelligent people aren`t taking this one to the bank. And it is not just the Pentagon element of 9/11.

Former Bush team insider Morgan Reynolds charges the Bush administration with orchestrating the 9/11 attacks as a pretext for launching a preplanned "long war" in the Middle East, rolling back our civil liberties, and massively increasing military spending.

Reynolds, the former director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis, and the ex-top economist for George W. Bush's Labor Department, charged the Bush administration with gross malfeasance, and proposed the prosecution of top administration officials.

Reynolds' indictment of the administration he worked for was a stunning event, he first spoke at the Wisconsin Historical Society auditorium in Madison, and it was totally and completely ignored by the media.

This is a crushing story to keep up with, because no matter what, people did go missing that day.

Some people can only reply with `Well if it didn`t happen, where are they?"

Those of us who are following this cannot answer that at this point. We may learn the answer though, but we will not do it by following the lead established by local and even national TV newsrooms and newspapers who have failed and continue to fail every day in their pursuit of truth regarding our nation`s deepest and darkest, most personal tragedy.
