Darryl Hall and Performer/Producer Butch Walker Join Philly and Georgia Soul for 54th Live from Daryl's House

Daryl and Noted Performer/Producer Play Six-Song Set That Includes Daryl Hall & John Oates classic “Say It Isn’t So.”

(NEW YORK CITY) - Daryl Hall hooks up with yet another multi-talented hyphenate in Georgia-born performer/producer Butch Walker on the 54th and latest edition of his critically acclaimed, multi award-winning Live from Daryl’s House web series and nationally syndicated TV program, premiering May 15 at lfdh.com.

The duo’s six-song set includes versions of Daryl Hall and John Oates’ hit single, “Say It Isn’t So,” from their 1983 compilation album, Rock ‘n Soul Part 1, as well as a rare performance of “Why Was It So Easy,” a track from Hall’s celebrated 1980 solo debut, Sacred Songs, with guitarist Robert Fripp. The pair also tackle four of Walker’s songs, including “Bodegas and Blood,” “Sweethearts” and “Closes Thing to You I’m Gonna Find,” from last year’s The Spark, along with “Mixtape,” from his 2004 sophomore effort, Letters.

Butch was thrilled to collaborate with Daryl for the show, raving, “Getting to roll into Daryl Hall’s compound up on a giant hill in the countryside of N.Y., then play some of my favorite songs of his with him, drink wine and eat amazing food with one of my childhood idols was something that gets marked off the list in my surreal, unpredictable life. Said Daryl: “Butch is one of a kind, as both an artist and producer. We shared some great musical moments, not to mention a great meal and some superb camaraderie.”

The Cartersville, GA, native has produced hits and written songs for some of the biggest names in music, including Katy Perry, Weezer, Pink and Avril Lavigne. Rolling Stone named him Producer of the Year and called him “one of America ’s bet singer-songwriters.” Walker performed alongside Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks at the Grammys. He has released six solo albums since his debut in 1992, with the most recent collection, The Spade, featuring his band the Black Widows, coming out last August on L.A. indie Dangerbird Records. Last fall, Walker ’s behind-the-scenes memoir of his life in music, Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt, was published by William Morrow, a division of Harper Collins.

The past five-plus years have marked a steady stream of superlatives and recognition for Live from Daryl’s House, with Hall receiving a Webby Award for Best Variety series from more than 10,000 entries at the 14^th annual ceremony three years ago at N.Y.’s Cipriani Wall Street before garnering an O Music Award from MTV last year. A live version of Live from Daryl's House, featuring Hall and previous show guests Sharon Jones and Allen Stone, just finished its own national tour dates.

Live from Daryl’s House is syndicated nationally by Good Cop Bad Cop Productions. Executive producers for the show include Hall and Scott Sternberg along with Daryl Hall manager Jonathan Wolfson.

Live from Daryl’s House is being shown weekly in over 80% of U.S. homes in the nation’s top 200 media markets, as well as all of the top 10, including New York (WPIX), L.A. (KTLA), Chicago (WGN), Dallas (KDAF) and Houston (KIAH). The show has also cleared in such key markets as Philadelphia (CBS-owned KYW), Boston (KBIN) and Atlanta (WATL), as well as a number of NBC, Fox and CBS-owned affiliates across the country. Most stations are airing a full hour with two original shows back to back on Saturday nights. The first week of the show did a .2 in national Nielsens, with the second week increasing 50% and several stations adding airings.
