(PORTLAND, Ore.) - An ‘elderly male driver' mistakenly accelerated instead of braking today in Happy Valley, and his car plunged into a commercial establishment doing business as Johnny's #2, located at 11322 SE 82nd Avenue, investigators say.

"Consequently, this out-of-control vehicle accelerated through the front of this establishment and injured a female working inside the premises," Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman, Detective Jim Strovink said.

Around 11:11 a.m., 88-year old Ernest R. Blair of Portland, was attempting to park his red, 2001, Subaru Forester, in front of Johnny's #2; which, is presently under renovation for business.

Strovink says Blair mistakenly accelerated his vehicle – confusing the gas pedal for the brake pedal – and thrust his Subaru automobile into the front of this establishment under renovation. Blair was not injured from the resulting crash.

"The Blair vehicle lunged completely into the floor of the business while striking a female working inside who is employed by Allied Lock & Safe, and was in the process of installing security features at this store."

Strovink says this injured Allied Lock & Safe employee is identified as 35-year old Sarah L. Hall of Beaverton.

She was treated at the scene, conscious and breathing, by attending American Medical Response and Clackamas Fire District # 1, paramedics. She was then transported to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

Here is a video clip of the vehicle being removed from the business, recorded by John Gibson, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office:
