(SALEM) - The Capital Fire Med (CFM) ambulance subscription fee will be increasing to $50 per membership beginning July 1st, 2006. The rising costs of administering the Capital Fire Med program, continued increases in insurance deductibles and the volume of membership utilization have necessitated this fee increase. Capital Fire Med fees have not increased in over ten years and will still be at or below the amount charged by similar sized Fire Med agencies. Capital Fire Med is a jointly run program between Salem Fire Department, Keizer Fire District and Marion County Rural Fire Protection District #1. Rural Metro Ambulance also honors this program through it's partnership with Salem Fire Department. A Capital Fire Med membership ensures that insurance deductibles and co-pays will be covered for medically necessary ambulance transports. Your Capital Fire Med membership that covers all full time residents of a household for twelve months is also recognized in over forty other areas throughout Oregon. Also as of July 1st, 2006, Capital Fire Med members with a joint Lifeflight air ambulance service membership will be receiving the Lifeflight renewal directly from the Lifeflight office. Anyone interested in a new Lifeflight membership should call 1-800-982-9299 for more information. Articles for May 12, 2006 | Articles for May 13, 2006 | Articles for May 14, 2006 | ||
