(BAKER CITY, Ore.) - At 3:30 Saturday afternoon, 28-year old Joshua Pantle, of Baker City was taken to the Baker County Jail after being arrested for Criminal Trespass In the Second Degree. He was placed in a holding cell pending the booking process. At 5:43 p.m., Pantle showed signs of medical distress while in the holding cell. An ambulance was dispatched to respond to the Baker County Jail and arrived at the jail at 5:49. The ambulance carrying Pantle, the patient, arrived at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center at 6:07 p.m., where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff at 6:32 p.m. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday with the State Medical Examiner's Office. On May 11th, 2015, the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office released details to investigators on causes of death for Mr. Pantle. The autopsy conducted by the state medical examiner revealed the remnants of a plastic type baggy in the man's stomach which appeared to have burst and the initial toxicology revealed a high level of methamphetamine in his system. The conclusion by the state medical examiner was "Methamphetamine Overdose". _________________________________________
