(ALBANY) - Police have located a man reported to have weapons on the Linn-Benton County College campus. The Linn-Benton Community College just south of Albany on 99E went into lockdown at about 9:00 AM, after a report of a man on campus who was suspected of concealing weapons under a tan trenchcoat. The man had a weapon and a concealed weapons permit, according to Albany police. More details will follow as they become available. Albany police, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police responded and searched the campus. Following events in Virginia last month, Sharon King, contract and risk manager for the Albany college, sent out a campuswide e-mail to staff reminding everyone that the college has zero tolerance for weapons of any type on campus. She advised staff to always be aware of their surroundings and to report any threat, heated or volatile argument or violent action. This investigation continues. The Business Awards Dinner will be rescheduled. Any activities on the Albany campus for Saturday and Sunday will occur as scheduled. So Linn-Benton has a Zero-Tolerance attitude about firearms. I'm sure that will impress any potential Cho, just like it did at Virgina Tech. Stupid ivory tower types.

If you're going to carry a "concealed" firearm, make sure it is concealed. As long as no one sees it, no one gets upset and it never becomes an issue. No crime, no cops called, peace and tranquility all around.
It is illegal to carry weapons legal May 11, 2007 4:36 pm (Pacific time)
So, if you legally carry a concealed weapon, it is also a crime? Perhaps people should not worry about the law, if it doesn't really protect you from being arrested. Bizarre!
