Make Money: Help Yourself and Salem-News.com, and Feel Good About What You Do

Full-time or part-time, using email, phone and sometimes in person, you can help market the most important news in existence.

Salem-News.com

(SALEM) - We've been publishing Internet news for a long time at Salem-News.com. For almost eight years it has been a consistent seven day a week effort, and the site has grown substantially in terms of regional coverage, visitor count, and online ranking.

We have seen many significant achievements and rewards for the consistency that comes with maintaining a writing team this size and carrying in the span of our eight years, more than 23,000 articles that are all searchable on Google.

Our core staff redefines the term 'skeleton crew' yet handles the contributions of more than 100 Salem-News.com writers, and an even larger amount of news in addition to that, originating from other sources all over the world. We have become a lightning rod source for human rights activists and movements; and in the context of that, we lack the staff to also properly market this commercial news organization that sometimes sees more in donations than ad revenue.

From day one, we took a vow never to allow the type of advertising you see on almost, if not all of the mainstream, corporate news agencies. No pop-up's, no ads that overtake the page, or force you to click 'no' just to see the news.

Our ads, otherwise, are like others you see online, and in this regard, people are increasingly understanding three things; that Internet advertising is the only way a large number of businesses can economically promote themselves, that Google Ads are not as effective as people once thought, and that the most important thing of all for some businesses, is the knowledge that the occasional press release they send out will actually be published by a site with our type of ranking; which was gained by nearly eight straight years of providing news seven days a week.

I don't know if anyone has ever done this before, but we are opening up ad sales to anyone who wants to help. You sell the ad, you make 25%. There is no other agency we know of that offers that high of a commission.

We will help take care of the ad design and even create a Web page for the advertiser on our framework if they don't have one, making it a simple and effective process for all businesses. Of course those promoting their own Web presence will see their Website recognition rise after being carried on a regular basis by us.

One strong point is that everything about Salem-News.com can be verified from independent sources.

We see some people selling ads to their friends; others making a complete private business out of it. All you have to do is agree to our honest standards, download the rate card, find a client, and then send the information to us after the client agrees to buy. U.S. citizens participating will have to fill out a W-9, all who participate will sign the contractor agreement. It is very simple and the ads sizes and rates are not overly complicated.

This is a great way to make money and support our efforts which are gravely important. The world needs our help, local people everywhere benefit from our efforts. This is more true than ever with the addition of our Human Rights Ambassador William Gomes from Bangladesh. An experienced Journalist and Human Rights Activist; he assists people who survive under the darkest shadows of government corruption. Nobody on the face of this earth in journalism is doing what we are doing, it is making a difference you can too.

And before you go any further, understand that we at Salem-News.com do not apologize for our positions on Human Rights. This is a news agency often under attack. When we report the news in Israel and Palestine, we are sometimes called antisemitic and that charge is patently false, always applied to Israel's critics. Same goes for Sri Lanka, where we are accused of being against the Buddhist majority when in fact we only criticize their widespread Human Rights Violations. The same goes for Rwanda, where all manner of accusations are hurled at our writers because they challenge the stats quo and because they break stories that make fascist, corrupt governments look very bad, which they often deserve.

Now, back to business. There are hundreds of thousands of potential advertisers in the world who are well suited for advertising on Salem-News.com. The fact that we will publish press releases from advertisers as a condition of advertising is a valuable opportunity almost beyond words. Once sales take place, most clients will pay via credit card and when we get paid, you get paid.

  1. The first thing to do, is to check out Salem-News.com, particularly if you aren't familiar, and then visit the Salem-News.com online advertising page.
  2. This is where you can quickly download our pdf rate card and gain familiarity. Understand that this is a contract position, and if you are a U.S. resident, you will be responsible for taking care of your own taxes.
  3. Next, write to Bonnie King at adsales@salem-news.com. Please write 'Sales Opportunity' in the subject line. Tell us about yourself, where you are located, and ask any questions you may have.

Those who end up going for it will receive plenty of online tips and sales ideas, suggestions, and we will always be here to answer questions and be supportive in every way, we look forward to hearing from you.
