(ATLANTA) - A tropical storm watch remains in effect along the southeast coast of the United States from Altamaha Sound, Georgia southward to Flagler Beach, Florida.

A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within the next 36 hours.

At 5:00 PM EDT, the center of subtropical storm Andrea was located about 105 miles southwest of Savannah, Georgia.

Andrea is moving erratically but generally toward the west at about 5 mph. A continued slow motion with a gradual turn toward the southwest and south is expected over the next 24 hours.

Winds extend outward up to 115 miles, mainly east of the center.

Andrea is expected to produce total rainfall amounts of less than a half an inch in most coastal areas.
