Salem-Portland Afternoon Traffic and Weather Report

(SALEM, Ore.) - Good Afternoon! Here is your afternoon Salem and Portland traffic and weather report from Salem-News.com.

Salem area traffic report: Expect normal backups heading out of the city on Commercial St, the Center and Marion Street Bridges, Lancaster Drive, and Mission St. I-5 between Salem and Portland, and Highway 22 east and west are reported clear.

Portland area traffic report: No accidents being reported. Expect the usual delays heading out of the downtown area.

Salem Road Construction Report:

Wiltsey Rd SE Between Commercial St SE and Reed Ln SE. Today thru 5/15, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Lane closure with flaggers for water line installation for new development.

Lone Oak Rd SE Between Holder Ln SE and Mildred Ln SE. Today thru Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Lane closure for street improvement as part of a development project.

Evergreen Ave NE Between Chester Ave NE and Silverton Rd NE. Today thru Friday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM. Lane closure with flaggers for sewer service installation.

Market St NE Between 17th St NE and Capitol St NE. Now thru 6/11, 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Market St NE is closed to through traffic between Capitol St NE and 17th St NE for sewer and waterline construction. Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency services at all times. Detour routes will be in place. Westbound traffic will use 17th St NE, Sunnyview Rd NE, Fairgrounds Rd NE, and Summer St NE. Eastbound traffic will use Summer St NE, D Street NE, and 17th St NE.

Polk County Road Construction Report:

The following Polk County roads will be affected by some type of construction work or paving between the hours of 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM weather permitting.

Zena Road is being paved through Friday, May 18th. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minute delay.

Riddell Road is being paved through Thursday, May 17th. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minutes delay. No work will be done on Sunday.

Orrs Corner Road is being paved through Thursday, May 17th. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minutes delay. No work will be done on Sunday.

When there is paving in front of your driveway, you should avoid using your driveway access for a period of 2 hours while the pavement is cooling.

Coast Road Construction Report:

U.S. Highway 20: Pioneer Mountain – Eddyville. Expect traffic impacts on both the east and west ends of the project. Construction traffic entering the highway will occur between milepost 24.5 and milepost 23 near Eddyville.

Construction crews and construction traffic will be working the at the west end tie-in (connection of the existing highway to the future highway) with minor earth moving and grass seeding operations between milepost 16 and milepost 17, about 6 miles west of Eddyville.

Willamette-Valley Forecast From Salem-News.com:

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs around 70.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs around 70.

Saturday: Morning clouds...then partly sunny. Highs 65 to 70.

Sunday: Partly sunny. Highs 65 to 70.

Monday: Partly sunny. Highs around 70.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. Highs around 65.
