(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police are on the scene of a reported armed robbery in Salem at the Blockbuster Video store at 17th and Market. The incident reportedly happened between 11:45 a.m. and noon Friday. A store employee told police that the armed gunman stuck a handgun in the ribs of the 20-year old female employee fled southbound on 17th on the east side of the road. The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's, five-foot ten to six feet tall, with dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a black leather jacket, and white tennis shoes with a black stripe. At this point the perimeter is broken down. A police dog on the scene dog didn't seem to get a fix on the suspect. Investigators speculate that he may have entered a waiting vehicle.
