(SACRAMENTO, CA) - With 2,273 published online news articles, I think I may have the highest number of news reports by a single reporter in the U.S. or otherwise. I will be interested to know if anyone disagrees. For those writers out there who would like to catch up, according to my calculations, you could do so if you wrote an article every day for 6.2 years. The number, 2,273, is based upon the current archives of Salem-News.com. All are listed chronologically here, Salem-News.com Articles written by Tim King. The referenced articles are available at no cost in perpetuity for readers. The first article, The State of Media in Oregon`s Capital City, was published Feb. 04, 2006. The most recent was published two days ago, titled, Why Does SF Gay Pride Board Pres. Lisa Williams Hate Gay Whisetleblower Manning? This is the 20th official year of the Internet. I remember the first time I entered an Internet cafe with my wife, and we both found ourselves staring at the computer, with not the first clue... we didn't know what a browser was! My how things have changed. As I counted the articles, so many thoughts came rushing back. Titles and pictures flashed by. Cities, countries, events, deaths of so many people, Benazir Bhutto, two Salem-News.com writers, Henry Ruark and Vittorio Arrigoni, Scott Lundell who was killed in Afghanistan when I was covering that war, Hussein, Gaddafi, on and on. So many people in nine years. It wasn't all death of course, as much as that topic may tend to dominate my articles. There were so many individual moments and I remember each story surprisingly well. I saw articles filed from Oregon, California, Canada, Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. I thought about the experiences, the excitement, the fears, the victories and the great losses. So what does it mean if I do have the highest number of published articles? Well, probably not much I suppose, but on a personal level it means something, and perhaps some day this could be a matter for the Guinness Book of World Records, I write with a half smile. These 2,273 articles were filed from all manner of places, often generated in long overnight writing sessions. Some are lengthy and some are brief, a couple of the entries aren't really my articles, but I wrote an intro, etc. There are thousands of articles that I have written and published simply for Salem-News.com without a writer credit, since we went online in May 2004. I have also written and continue to write for other agencies and these are not accounted for in the above number.

Tim's years as a Human Rights reporter have taken on many dimensions; he has rallied for a long list of cultures and populations and continues to every day, with a strong and direct concentration on the 2009 Genocide of Tamil Hindus and Christians in Sri Lanka. As a result of his long list of reports exposing war crimes against Tamil people, Tim was invited to be the keynote speaker at the FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America) Conference in Baltimore, in July 2012. This is the largest annual gathering of North American Tamils; Tim addressed more than 3000 people and was presented with a traditional Sri Lanka ‘blessed garland’ and a shawl as per the tradition and custom of Tamil Nadu In a personal capacity, Tim has written 2,026 articles as of March 2012 for Salem-News.com since the new format designed by Matt Lintz was launched in December, 2005. Serving readers with news from all over the globe, Tim's life is literally encircled by the endless news flow published by Salem-News.com, where more than 100 writers contribute stories from 23+ countries and regions. Tim specializes in writing about political and military developments worldwide; and maintains that the label 'terrorist' is ill placed in many cases; specifically with the LTTE Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, where it was used as an excuse to slaughter people by the tens of thousands; and in Gaza, where a trapped population lives at the mercy of Israel's destructive military war crime grinder. At the center of all of this, Tim pays extremely close attention to the safety and welfare of journalists worldwide. _________________________________________

That would be quite a record! Right up there with most published authors, tv reports, etc. Nice work.

Maybe another 3,000 articles and you win a prize? I am a conservative, and frankly I have never heard of you from any conservative website, television or radio program. Maybe they are just in awe and fearful of you?
I don't think that matters, but this is officially entered with the Guinness Book of Records, and in less than four weeks we will know if it has that merit..

Seems you have really have smoked those right wing pukes who would never agree with your intelligent, sound and level approach. You have a large base of readers, I suspect it will keep going, again thanks for having sound politics, and not being one of those hateful right wing sleezebuckets.

Tim, thanks for your hard work. keep it up. It would be good for your to highlight your best work among all these writings. It would also be interesting to read your reflections on what you feel has been achieved by your journalism, what was achieved by your visiting the conquered countries for your reporting on the backs of the conquerers, and how that has been different from your other reporting not as an embedded journalist. thanks. zahir ebrahim

TO: The Honorable Tim King
Congratulations with 2,273 news publications based upon the current archives of Salem-News.com.
It would be very logical to hazard the hypothesis, that you have unquestionably work far above and beyond the call of duty to protect and inform the world by publishing the simple truth. You have crystal clearly made a difference, but more so by the quality of the publications than by numbers. I have heard you say repeatedly though, if it weren't for the strong bond and cohesion of ALL of the Storm Force Team Members, we could never have accomplished all that we have. Exemplary job my friend, and as a combat Marine myself, Semper fi… I would serve with you anytime and any place, because your heart is in the right place.
A Salute to You Sir
Thanks Again - Don Sexton
