(SCAPOOSE, Ore.) - A faith-based debate over the Iraq War was held this week between a seminary professor and a prominent anti-war activist. The event was held at the Scapoose Library.

Many Christians say they are disappointed that a presidency with a foundation based in Christianity continues to make choices that result in warring violence.

Others believe that pressing the war effort is the only way to prevent the United States from again being the scene of terrorist attacks.

Dave Brownlow of Believers Against the War and Western Seminary Professor James DeYoung debated the military's involvement in Iraq Tuesday, May 1st.

James DeYoung, a professor of New Testament and Greek at Western Seminary in Portland, takes the position "Support the Troops, Stay the Course." DeYoung is the author of "Islam, Terrorism and Christian Hope." barnesandnoble.com

David Brownlow, founder of Believers Against the War from Clackamas, Ore., a columnist for NewsWithViews.com. argues "Support the Troops, Bring Them Home." His group's Web site is believersagainstthewar.org/

"Many Christians say they are disappointed that a presidency with a foundation based in Christianity continues to make choices that result in warring violence." Since when is this presidency "based on anything other than greed , racism and a sociopathic disregard for human life ? Geez.

I cannot believe there is any debate on this !! What did Jesus say about warmongers and killing? I guess Jesus is out of touch with modern Christianity. His left wing diatribes show that he is a traitor to modern , pro-active Christian values. Jesus was a leftie bleeding heart..just read some of his quotes.."Love your enemies and pray for those who spitefully use you " ..what a load of left wing crap ! And how about "Thou shall not kill"..? If we listened to this pacifist crap, we'd be in a world of hurt. And even when the Roman terrorists came to arrest and crucify Jesus, he didnt even fight back ! What a wussy ! Face it folks, Jesus may have been OK back then , but now he is just wrong...wrong for Christianity and wrong for America ! Thnakfully we have a strong Christian president and vice president who can see through all Jesus Christ's liberal drivel. ( this is satire, by the way)

Another debate this late in the game? Americans are such racists. There have to over 100,000 babies and little kids killed and deformed. We know the numbers are in the 700,000 level for all civilians. I spoke to someone from that region and he told me it is probably over a million. PIGS! MURDERERS! DOPES! Certain elements in the New World Order care nothing of human life. What makes you think that they cared about allowing and participating in 9/11. I am talking about western intelligence along with certain individuals in western government. And furthermore, what is that predatory Queen doing here. She is our ancestral enemy. People should throw mud balls at her, not learn to respect her. She is a well dressed Dr. Mengele. She hates the U.S. Go back to the U.K you steely eyed whore!

Thanks for posting this, and linking to the video. Good debate. I hope Christians (and anyone else interested) will take the time to watch it.
