Oregon Guard Helicopter Crew Rescues Injured Logger

The UH-60 helicopter reached the victim quickly and had him delivered to Oregon Health and Sciences University at 11:40 AM.

(SALEM, Ore.) - An Oregon National Guard UH-60 Helicopter crew assisted in a rescue this morning, when a logger fell off a cliff in Polk County.

Oregon Guard Spokesman Major Mike Braibish says the incident happened about nine miles west of Black Rock and Mainline Road, which is about 45 miles outside of Salem, Oregon.

Braibish says the Oregon National Guard received the call for assistance at 9:25 AM this morning. The UH-60 helicopter reached the victim quickly and had him delivered to Oregon Health and Sciences University at 11:40 AM.

The name of the victim and his condition were not available for release at this time.

The UH-60 is part of C Company, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, based in Salem.
