(DAMASCUS, Ore.) - A three vehicle crash is reported on SE State Hwy 224, near the intersection of SE 232 Drive, in Damascus. Preliminary information received from the scene suggests a passenger vehicle and patrol vehicle struck head-on; which sent the patrol vehicle into the path of a traveling empty logging truck. Additional information reveals one of the involved vehicles is a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle; in operation with a deputy driver, and recruit deputy passenger. State Hwy 224 is closed in both directions while this traffic crash investigation continues. This road closure can be expected for several additional hours as the investigation continues. Oregon State Police are participating in this traffic crash investigation involving a Clackamas County Sheriff's patrol vehicle; a passenger vehicle and an empty log truck. Information from the scene indicates that any injuries are considered non-life threatening. Two patrol personnel involved in this crash were transported to Milwaukie Providence Hospital, for the described non-life threatening injuries. A female driver in operation of a passenger vehicle remained at the scene with described minor injuries. The male log truck driver is understood to be not injured in this traffic event. The Clackamas County inter-agency crash reconstruction forensic team (CRAFT) has been summoned to the scene to continue with this investigation.
