(SALEM) - Governor Ted Kulongoski ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff on Friday, in memory of Marine Lance Cpl. Dale Peterson. Peterson, 20, of Redmond, died Monday, April 23rd, in Falluja, Iraq. He was a member of the 2nd Combat Engineer battalion of the 2nd Marine Division, based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. “The thoughts and prayer of Oregonians throughout the state are with Lance Corporal Peterson’s family and friends as they grieve the loss of a great Oregonian,” said Governor Kulongoski. “Peterson served our state and country with great honor, bravery and dedication.
