Police Investigate Fatal Crash Involving Freight Train

Oregon State Police and local emergency responders are on scene as well as Union Pacific Railroad law enforcement personnel.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers are on the scene of a, fatal pedestrian accident reported along Highway 99E near South End Road, north of Canby.

Investigators on the scene say they have been determined the situation was caused by a collision with a Union Pacific Railroad train.

State Police say it is not an auto/pedestrian fatality as first reported by some media outlets.

Oregon State Police and local emergency responders are on scene and Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) law enforcement personnel are enroute to be the lead investigating agency.

OSP will not be the lead but will assist as needed.

Did OSP close the railroad for five hours so the experts could find out what happened? Duh!!!
