(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon State Police say six people were transported to the hospital following a Friday morning crash.

This morning around 7:40 a.m. a 1992 GMC pickup driven by 40-year old Jonathan Jason Christensen of Oregon City, was eastbound on Highway 224 near milepost 6 when it drifted across the center left turn lane and crashed nearly head-on into a westbound 2007 Ford F550 truck driven by 21-year old Gerrardo Gutierrez-Casillas of Portland.

After impact, the GMC pickup swung around and stopped facing west in the left westbound lane. A westbound 2006 Acura MDX sport utility vehicle driven by 54-year old Rockchild Scott of Clackamas, was unable to avoid the collision and collided with the rear of the involved vehicles.

Mr. Christensen was trapped inside and extricated by Clackamas County Fire District #1 personnel. He was transported by LifeFlight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital where he died after arrival. A passenger in the GMC pickup identified as 37-year old Jennifer Mowry of Wilsonville, was transported by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Gutierrez-Casillas and his two passengers were transported by ambulance to area hospitals with minor injuries. The passengers are identified as 24-year old Juan Rambila-Ramos of Gresham, and Alvaro Naranjo-Mantano, whose age was unknown, from Portland.

Scott and his juvenile male son passenger received minor injuries and were transported to an unknown area hospital.

Safety restraint use information is pending confirmation. OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Clackamas County Sheriffs Office, AMR, Clackamas County Fire District #1, and ODOT assisted at the scene. Highway 224 was closed at the scene for approximately 4 hours.
