Saving Gaza One Family at a Time

Learn more about the Samouni Family Community Centre/Classroom.

Noor Ahmed Harazeen visits with Wael Samouni at what is left of his home in Gaza.
Noor Ahmed Harazeen visits with Wael Samouni at what is left of his home in Gaza. A number of his children were killed during Israeli attacks on his civilian neighborhood.

(GAZA CITY) - Two years on, the Samouni family in Gaza is still without basic needs and the children continue to suffer from the trauma of Israel's extended attack called Operation Cast Lead and the ultimate loss of parents, siblings and other family members.

Many of these children were made to live next to the corpses of their loved ones for days, so you can imagine what is happening in their heads and their hearts.

We have already built a playground on Samouni land; we have planted a small Olive Tree Orchard and laid the floor for the classroom/community centre. The next phase of building the centre/classroom is outlined at the following link: http://www.indiegogo.com/Samouni-Family-Community-Centre-Classroom-1?c=comments

Please spread this around and know that everyone has something to offer.

Watch the following video of the kids playing in their own playground to see what an impact we have already made, but know that the next vital step is education: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K85j1CMsckQ

The kids and their parents have all said that education is the key, we are just one step away from providing that to them.

Please help make this happen.

Wael Samouni is probably another one of those Gazans who is furious with Hamas for, first, causing the war with their constant bombardment of Israeli civilians and second, furious with Hamas for building amusement parks and shopping malls for themselves and their cronies' benefit instead of rebuilding the homes destroyed in their little war first. Can't blame him but he better not say anything or Hamas will shoot him in the kneecaps like so many others.
