(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - Two suspects were arrested Wednesday night by Oregon State Police (OSP) detectives and troopers related to last weekend's multi-injury hit-and-run crash on Highway 6 near Tillamook. Sergeant Lane Hendrickson with OSP says using leads developed with the public's help, their investigation led to the arrest of two suspects at the Greyhound bus station in Salem last night at approximately 9:45 PM. Hendrickson says investigators found out that the suspects were planning on leaving the state on a bus the next day. Both suspects were initially held in Marion County Jail and were then transported to Tillamook County Jail. 19-year old Eric Ramirez of NE Portland faces charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Felony Hit-and-Run, Reckless Driving, 7 counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, 7 counts of Assault in the Second Degree, 7 counts of Assault in the Third Degree, and 7 counts of Assault in the Fourth Degree. 25-year old Carlos Jimenez-Balboa of SE Portland faces one charge of Felony Hit-and-Run. Additional charges may be pending as a result of the ongoing investigation. Police believed that Ramirez was driving the van on March 22nd at the time of the 11:30 PM crash. They say Balboa drove away to where the van was found abandoned in Tillamook. Both men reportedly stayed at a Tillamook-area motel during the weekend and arranged for transportation back to the Portland area. Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at 800-452-7888 Articles for March 26, 2008 | Articles for March 27, 2008 | Articles for March 28, 2008 | Quick Links
