(KEIZER) - The City of Keizer is soliciting applications for volunteers to be considered to serve on the following committees:

The Keizer Points of Interest Committee was established by the Keizer City Council to identify, authenticate, and memorialize sites of interest located in the Keizer area. Sites to be identified may be of the historical, geographical, botanical, or the unusual.

The Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM.

There is one vacancy on the committee at this time.

The Planning Commission assists the City Council in land use decisions and recommendations regarding Keizer's future growth, development, and beautification.

The commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM.

There are two vacancies on the commission at this time.

The commission has guidelines for composition and organization.

The guidelines prohibit more than two members to be engaged in principally in the buying, selling, or developing of real estate.

Currently, the commission has two members who fall into this category.

Therefore, applicants who fall under these occupation guidelines are not encouraged to apply at this time.

Anyone interested in more information on these boards or committees should contact Tracy Davis, City Recorder at (503) 390-3700 extension 3412.

Applications may be obtained by calling or stopping by City Hall at 930 Chemawa Road N, or submitted electronically through the city`s Web site at www.keizer.org.
