(TUALATIN) - Oregon State Police troopers report that four passenger vehicles and two commercial trucks were involved in a traffic crash early Friday afternoon that completely closed Interstate 205 southbound lanes near the Tualatin River. Responding fire personnel say 3 people were transported for treatment and about 30 gallons of fuel spilled from a tank. All lanes reportedly reopened by 3:00 PM. On March 17th at approximately 12:30 PM, heavily congested traffic was southbound on Interstate 205 near milepost 4 in heavy rain when some vehicles came to a sudden stop. A blue Peterbilt truck with a load of dirt was unable to stop and crashed into the back of two vehicles, pushing both vehicles forward into two other passenger vehicles. The first truck then collided with a Wal-Mart Corporation commercial truck. An adult female passenger in the red pickupwas that was rear-ended by the Peterbilt, identified as 62-year old Nancy Kenner of Kennewick, Washington, was was seriously injured. She was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University with non-life threatening injuries. Her husband was driving and not injured. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVFR) reported two other people were transported with minor injuries. In addition, a fuel tank on the blue Peterbilt truck leaked approximately 30 gallons, most of which remained on the pavement. The tank did not come off the truck as initially reported. The driver of the blue Peterbilt truck is identified as 43-year old Michael Kingsfather of Milwaukie. He was not injured. No other names are available and no citations have been issued. OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation. ODOT coordinated the scene's clean up.
