(LINCOLN CITY) - A great fly-in event geared toward families is taking place this weekend at the Oregon Coast. The Siletz Bay State Airport is hosting it`s annual fly-in Saturday and Sunday. Organizers say people looking for something interesting to do this weekend should bring a chair or a blanket and watch a variety of planes take-off and land at the airport. For people who want to get a real part of the action, scenic flights of the coast will be available from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Flights cost $25 per person. The flights are weather-permitting, but the event is rain or shine. A pancake breakfast featuring pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, coffee and juice will be served on both days from 8:00 AM to noon. Cost is $4.50 per person. The EAA Young Eagles Program gives children ages 8 to 17, the chance to fly planes and learn more about flying. The fly-in raises funds for airport maintenance and cleaning of the grounds and facilities. For weather-related information for the event, call (541) 921-1198.
