Boating Safety Class Offered Saturday in Keizer

Boaters in Oregon, ages 12 to 50, are now required to carry a Boater Education Card

(KEIZER) - The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Keizer Fire District are offering a boaters safety class on Saturday.

Those who pilot boats on Oregon waterways, between the ages of 12 and 50, with motors of 10 hp or more are required to have a Boater Education Card.

Successful completion of this class meets the state`s education requirements for the card.

The class costs $5 and pre-registration is required.

The class will be held at the Keizer Fire Hall, 661 Chemawa Rd NE, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Those planning on attending the class should pick-up their textbooks before the class.

Textbooks are available at either the Keizer Fire Hall, or at the Oregon State Marine Board office, 435 Commercial St. NE.
