(LONDON) - An application to adjourn civil procedures until the outcome of the criminal proceedings was submitted to the Royal Courts of Justice on 24th February on behalf of Nigerians Bishop Gloria[i] and Reverend Chiwar Musa. So far, the application has been ignored. Instead, Mr Musa was served some 16 files of documents, as well as an adoption statement by Haringey Council who kidnapped their five children in April 2010 and the sixth baby at birth, with extreme violence.

According to Haringey Council, the drama of the Nigerian Musa family is meant to be dealt with in the secrecy of family courts. But African and other international publicity[ii] have spread the news about them and their children world wide and for many months.

Since the Musas were arrested on 28th November 2011, an additional case was started in a criminal court which is not secret. There they have legal representation, while they still have to fend for themselves as Litigants in Person in the civil family court. Bail has been refused on the grounds that they might flee, which is completely unfounded, as they are waiting to be reunited with their children.

According to Article 6 of the Human Rights Act regarding fair trials, Litigants in Person can chose lay legal advisors as McKenzie Friends[iii]. Out of the difficulties arising from trying to help the Musas in prison and in court, the Association of McKenzie Friends was formed. Cooperation has begun with Women in Prison[iv] and Spurgeons[v] as charities helping prisoners.

On 6th March, the day of the world wide protest against child abuse[vi] the Association was launched in Westminster[vii] under the auspices of Austin Mitchell MP[viii] and John Hemming MP[ix].

None of the many parents or grandparents who participated in the world wide protest against child abuse on Tuesday, 6th March 2012, nor the general public can understand how foreign children can be adopted, while the parents have not been found guilty of any criminal charges.

The Association has therefore written a letter to Sir Nicholas Wall[x], the President of the Family Division, hoping that he will comply with the Rule of Law and respect cases of precedence, where civil proceedings were stopped, while criminal proceedings were taking place.

Considering the bigger picture of child snatching[xi] aka state kidnapping[xii], more and more people are speaking out:

Currently 854 people have signed the petition The Secrecy of the Family Courts should be lifted NOW[xiii], with nearly 13,000 page views and most remarkable comments[xiv]

signer no 15 is among all those experts who call the Musa case the most evil and corrupt one that has been observed for decades of child abuse.

Anonymous vs Social Services[xv] is a video that has been viewed over 2,100 times and spells out what victims of family courts have experienced

Our general overview[xvi] as well as our portfolio of nine cases[xvii] that we submitted to the Education Select Committee describes our observations.

In 1997, the Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Service (Australia)[xviii] published six volumes. The first one covers Corruption, the second one Reform and volumes four, five and six cover paedophilia.

To support the Musa case as the tip of the iceberg of child snatching and other white collar crimes[xix] means supporting many victims of a financial and legal system whose self-regulation is not serving the general public.

It seems that the time is right to follow the Australian model in the UK and regain confidence and trust not only in the police, but also the legal system and the media.
