Music Review: Josh Turner - Haywire

"The life that I live and the experiences that I have always affect what comes out of me creatively. I think that's what makes music real." --multi-platinum MCA recording artist Josh Turner

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Josh Turner is already on his fourth CD, and shows no signs of slowing down. Haywire is a mix of up-tempo feel-good songs and slow romantic ballads.

The first single is “Why Don’t We Just Dance”, and it will get you doing just that. If you get a chance to see the music video, it will take you on a trip through many fun decades.

“I Wouldn’t Be A Man" is re-make of a classic Don Williams song; only Josh Turner could do it justice. The title track “Haywire” is young love gone crazy. It’s a great sing-a-long song.

“Lovin’ You On My Mind”, is a song you could sing to your sweetheart. “Eye Candy” is also a treat for the ears, sweet, sticky and a whole lotta fun.

“The Answer” is a beautiful ballad about Jesus’ love and power. There are 2 different versions of the CD available; the regular version, and the deluxe version. The deluxe version has 4 extra tracks on it, which include live versions of Josh’s first hit “Long Black Train “and “Your Man”.

I personally have listened to this CD over 15 times and I’m still not tired of it. Josh Turner is the real deal, you can watch Josh’s videos and many more on Country Comfort which airs on KWVT on 17.1, Sunday mornings @ 6am, and Saturday evenings @ 9pm (check your local listings for more show times).

Ryan West was born and raised here in Oregon, part of the TV/Radio business for over 25 years. Ryan has had the music bug from a young age; it started with a turntable and a cassette player and running a pretend radio station in his bedroom. High school is where it all came to reality. He got his first “real” job at KEED playing country music on the graveyard shift. Ryan has worked in many formats ranging from Country (KKNU/KUGN-FM), adult contemporary (KMGE,KEHK) and news. Radio itself is a very tough business, so about 11 years ago Ryan needed to do something else. That led him to work at a Eugene TV station, and he produces a country music video program called Country Comfort which airs on KWVT 17.1 on Sundays. With celebrities including some of today’s hottest country stars such as Clay Walker, Phil Vassar, Rascal Flatts and the legendary Charlie Daniels, Country Comfort is aimed to please.
