(Albany) - Linn County Sheriff`s deputies chased a woman from the county courthouse Monday after she was told by a judge that she was going to jail. Sheriff Tim Mueller says 23-year-old Tiffany Beyer of Albany was joined by a second woman, 27-year-old Charity Dillon of Albany, and the two fled the courthouse in a Toyota Camry.

Sheriff Tim Mueller says Beyer had appeared in Linn County Circuit Court for a pre-trial hearing for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Beyer had been out of custody up to that time when the judged revoked her release agreement and set a bail amount on her.

Mueller said Beyer ran from the courtroom and got into the Toyota with Dillon.

Deputies got a tip from a witness who saw the pair and within several minutes tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle accelerated to 60 m-p-h through town.

Deputies, not wanting to press the pursuit to even greater speeds, backed off and eventually lost sight of the vehicle for a short time Mueller said.

The vehicle was spotted again heading south on Waverly Street in Albany, and deputies and Albany police again attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, Beyer, lost control on a corner and crashed into the garage door of a house.

Both Beyer and Dillon suffered numerous injuries in the crash; no one at the residence was injured. They were transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.

Beyer was treated and released and is currently lodged in the Linn County Jail. Dillon was admitted to the hospital where she remains at this time. No charges have been filed on Dillon at this time Mueller said.
