Marion County Deputies Investigating Home Invasion Robbery

No injuries were reported to any of the residents and further information will be made available as the investigation progresses.

(SALEM) - This morning at approximately 1:00 a.m. deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called to the 8400 block of Mt. Angel Highway. Residents reported that two men possibly armed with handguns came to the residence and attempted to rob them.

After escaping the residents called 911 and responding deputies were able to capture one of the men. The second suspect was believed to have barricaded inside of the residence and the Marion County SWAT Team was called to assist.

After attempting to negotiate with the suspect for nearly four hours, SWAT made entry into the residence with the use of a K9. The residence was deemed clear and the K9 began checking outside for the second suspect. Approximately one hour later and one property to the south the second suspect was detained.

Currently both men are being questioned by detectives. No injuries were reported to any of the residents and further information will be made available as the investigation progresses.
