Missing Priest Subject of Search on Oregon Coast

Oregon CAP Cessna 182 search aircraft are participating in the continuing search for missing California Priest David Schwartz by conducting aerial reconnaissance of Tillamook County back roads.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - The Oregon Wing of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol has launched two aircraft in support of a search operation underway in Tillamook, Oregon.

The Tillamook County Sheriff Office is continuing to look for a missing California Priest named David Schwartz and his companion, Cheryl Gibbs.

CAP Spokesman Thomas Traver says the aircraft, one from Brookings and another from the Portland Troutdale Airport, are assisting in the search efforts by conducting aerial reconnaissance of back roads in the Tillamook County area.

This is where the couple's car was last reported having been seen.

The Tillamook County Sheriff is the lead agency in this search.
