Suspect Behind Bars Over Recent Salem Figaro's Pizza Store Robbery

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County detectives have arrested a man in connection with a recent robbery at the Figaro's Pizza store at 4688 Portland Road in Salem.

Marion County Sheriff's Office Lt. Bob Stai says that in following up on a robbery this past Sunday at the Figaro's Pizza store, detectives arrested 26-year old Robert Eugene Owens of Woodburn, Oregon.

Through "tips" received from the public, Stai says investigators pinned down Owens as the suspect. He was arrested near the Newberg Fred Meyer store on June 27th by detectives with the assistance of Newberg Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, Owens was transported to Newberg hospital for treatment of an existing medical condition. Following his release from the hospital, Owens was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Menacing.
