(ORLANDO, Florida) - A 12-year-old boy from Fort Campbell, Kentucky died Thursday following a ride on the Rock-n-Roller Coaster at MGM Studios in Orlando. Orange County Sheriff Kevin Berry says investigators have determined that the youngster got off of the roller coaster after completing the ride with his seven-year-old brother and his mother and father. The youngster reportedly went limp while exiting the ride Berry said. His father initiated CPR as MGM cast members who worked the attraction called rescue crews. Reedy Creek Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the youngster to Celebration Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The child has been identified as Michael Russell. He and his family were reportedly vacationing in the Orlando area Berry said. Homicide investigators from the Orange County Sheriff`s Office responded to the incident scene to determine the cause of death. Berry says at this point there is no reason to suspect foul play in this incident. Articles for June 28, 2006 | Articles for June 29, 2006 | Articles for June 30, 2006 | Quick Links

i was in orlando wen the accident happened the boy had a unknown heart condition, this was reported on the american news. I (12) went on this rollercaoster only 2 days after the event and the ride was fully working and safe, also the sign states that ppl wit heart conditions shud not ride this coaster, but his condition was unknown to j=his family so there is no one 2 blame it is just unfortunate.

The child apparently had a heart condition no one knew about. No normal healthy 12 year old would die from riding a roller coaster.

But no one is forcing any one to go these "rides". It is completely ones wish. The only person to be blamed for these incidents is himself.

As amusement rides become more intense there is an increasing element of danger that is associated with it still no one does a thing about it. These theme parks become even richer at the expense of human lives, especially those of children
