Jun-26-2011 23:37TweetFollow @OregonNews Pilger's Documentary The Wars You Don't SeeArun Shrivastava for Salem-News.comHis latest documentary, "THE WARS YOU DON'T SEE." is meant perhaps for the western audience, revealing deeply disturbing truth that affects us all.
(NEW DELHI ) - "John Pilger is a world-renowned investigative journalist, author and documentary filmmaker, who began his career in his homeland, Australia, before moving to London in the 1960s. He has been a foreign correspondent and writes for The New Statesman and the U.K. Guardian. He has twice won Britain’s Journalist of the Year Award and his films have earned academy awards in both the U.S. and U.K. Harold Pinter said of Pilger: “John Pilger is fearless. He unearths, with steely attention to facts, the filthy truth, and tells it as it is...I salute him.” His publications include A Secret Country, Hidden Agendas, and The New Rulers of the World. Pilger’s latest book, Freedom Next Time includes chapters on Afghanistan, Palestine, South Africa and India--countries where people either have glimpsed freedom or have reached a critical stage in their struggle." Pilger bio from a website. I have read his books and seen his documentaries. Consistently excellent. His latest documentary is on "THE WARS YOU DON'T SEE." meant perhaps for the western audience, it reveals deeply disturbing truth that affects us all. My friends worked to get this together for you to view freely, although the DVD costs about 10 dollars. The URL of each segment is given below. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch? Part 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch? What amazes me is this: 1. Two million Iraqis are dead, 740,000 Iraqi women widowed, 5 million homeless, 1/3 rd killed are children. Longest war, no cause, use of WMD, no civilised voices in opposition to the US + NATO attacks. 2. Hundreds of thousands in Afghanistan killed, the region is uninhabitable, so is Iraq because of radiation contamination from the use of Depleted Uranium weapons, also known as Weapons of Mass Destruction or area deniability weapons. 3. Why has been the MSM so silent? Do.t journalists have any moral compunction? 4. When one or two Muslims are killed in Police brutality in India, it becomes a national issue of "crimes against minorities." But when million of Muslims are done in by the British and American Government controlled military forces, not a voice is raised? And India has the second largest Muslim population in the world. Are the Iraqi, Libyan or Afghan Muslims inferior to Indian Muslims? Is that the position held by the Left thinkers and Muslim activists in India? How many times Indian politicians, even the secularists, have raised the issue of illegal wars and the use of WMDs in West Asia in the Indian Parliament? Not once. A decade of total political complicity with American and European powers in national and global resource plunder agenda. This country that stood for the struggles of developing nations of Asia, Africa and Latin America today has lost its moral leadership. In two decades, our politicians have sold this nation to the US+EU elites....our resources and the people. So much so that even a lousy Korean firm POSCO can influence our Government to kill the villagers so that they can set up their steel mill in Orissa. Bloody Koreans. They sold their nation to George Soros manipulation decades ago. Now they want our resources? If our Governments of the last two decades can't protect us from corporate plundering, it is understandable that they don't want to intervene on Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya or any nation that is being decimated. We have become complicit in globalised plunder of a bunch of criminal banksters and European families. Arun Shrivastava PS: Suggest those of you who can afford to buy, please do; it will help John Pilger to unravel more truths.
