Portland Police: Homicide Likely Tied to Domestic Abuse

A suspect in the incident is currently in custody at the hospital.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Homicide detectives are on scene at a residence in the 600 Block of N. Alberta, investigating a homicide that occurred earlier today.

After receiving a 911 call tonight at 5:20 p.m. from a friend of the victim, officers responded to the scene in and found an adult woman who was deceased inside the residence.

An adult male subject was also inside the residence and was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Wheat said.

This male subject is considered a suspect in this incident and is currently in custody at the hospital.

Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says investigators believe this incident is related to domestic violence.
