One Dead, Another Missing After Plane Crashes off Oregon Coast

The names of those onboard the plane have not yet been released.

(FLORENCE, Ore. ) - A small plane carrying two people crashed Sunday morning just off the Oregon Coast near the city of Florence.

Lane County Sheriff's office says one person was killed in the crash, which happened around 10:00 a.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard says they have recovered one body, and are searching for the second person onboard.

The Federal Aviation Administration is onsite and said the plane, a Grumman American AA5, crashed into the water about two miles north of Florence.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
