(LAS VEGAS, Nevada) - Oregon State Police has been informed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that Thursday evening's AMBER Alert issued in Nevada is cancelled after the missing girl was found safe in Porterville, California. Earlier this evening, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that they were seeking information to help find 11-year old Esther Melendez, who was believed to have been taken from her home by 30-year old Jose Rangel-Martinez. The child victim had last been seen June 4th at 5:30 PM. Oregon never issued an AMBER Alert in this state but they provided the information to assist Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as the suspect and victim were believed to be enroute to Washington State through Oregon or Idaho, or possibly Mexico. The suspect and child victim were reportedly in a red 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier four-door with Nevada plates.
