(WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore.) - Washington County Deputies responded to an accident in anunincorporated area Sunday evening after receiving a report of two juveniles involved in a rollover accident. They say the crash occurred when the juvenile driver fled the scene of a minor traffic accident stemming from a road rage incident. The passenger in the truck, also a juvenile, was transported to Emmanuel Hospital with trauma injuries from the rollover crash. Deputies say it began just after 6:00 PM when they received a call about a road rage incident in the City of Banks. Two vehicles, a 1991 Ford F250, a VW Bug and two motorcycles, were reported to be involved in the incident as the truck and motorcycles traveled westbound on Hwy 26 and the VW Bug traveled in an unknown direction. While traveling west on Hwy 26, the Ford F250 was following the two motorcycles. At one point, the driver, of the Ford F250, a juvenile male age 16 allegedly attempted to ram one of the motorcycles driven by 32-year old Delaney Vanloo of Gason. Investigators say the Ford F250 did come in contact with the motorcycle while both vehicles were traveling at an unknown speed. The rear "sissy bar" on the motorcycle was bent when the truck made contact. Delaney Vanloo was able to maintain control of his motorcycle and he continued traveling westbound with the second motorcycle driven by 34-year old Luke Polich, a resident of Beaverton. Luke Polich had his 8-year-old stepdaughter riding on his motorcycle with him. Both of the motorcycle riders stopped at the Dairy Queen on Hwy 26 near Pihl road. The Juvenile driving the Ford F250 pulled into the parking lot as well. A verbal altercation occurred and employees of the Dairy Queen called 911. Police say the altercation did not go physical, and the driver of the Ford F250 fled the scene. The truck traveled off Hwy 26 and onto Pihl road. While attempting to negotiate a sharp turn on Pongratz Road the Ford F250 rolled over. The passenger side of the cab collapsed and caused trauma injuries to the passenger. She was transported by ambulance to Emmanuel Hospital. The 16-year old driver of the Ford F250, a resident of Cornelius, was arrested for Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and Hit and Run. Police say he was also cited for Careless Driving. Due to his age, he was referred to the Juvenile Department where he was taken into custody. They did not identify the injured passenger in the Ford F-250 pick-up, or confirm if that individual was also a juvenile. They also did not clarify what role the VW bug played in the situation.
