The City of Salem Public Works Department wants Salem area drivers to Be Aware! of Salem area road construction projects taking place this week.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The City of Salem Public Works Department wants Salem area drivers to Be Aware! of Salem area road construction projects taking place this week.

Remember to slow down when you see orange signs, barrels and barricades. Speeding is the second most common cause of work zone crashes.

Salem-Area Road Construction Report:

Liberty Street SE: Between Oak Street SE and Trade Street SE. June 2 through June 16; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Liberty Street SE between Oak Street SE and Trade Street SE will be reduced to three lanes of traffic. Expect congestion at this location and use another route if possible. This lane closure is to install utilities at Fire Station 1.

Madrona Avenue SE: Between Fairview Industrial Drive SE and 25th Street SE. June 1-2; 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Madrona Avenue SE between Fairview Industrial Drive SE and 25th Street SE will have lanes of traffic narrowed and shifted. This lane shifting will be for paving as part of a street improvement project. Expect congestion at this location and use another route to avoid delays.

Broadway Street NE: Between Madison Street NE and Pine Street NE. June 2; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Broadway Street NE between Madison Street NE and Pine Street NE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers Expect congestion at this location and use another route to avoid delays. This lane closure is for utility work.

Liberty Road S: Between Madrona Avenue S and Ewald Avenue S. June 3; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Liberty Road S between Madrona Avenue S and Ewald Avenue S will be reduced to one lane of southbound traffic. Expect congestion at this location and use an alternate route if possible to avoid delays. This lane closure is for utility work.

Wiltsey Rd SE: Between Reed Ln SE and Sunnyside Rd SE. June 2 to June 4; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wiltsey Rd SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers for tree trimming around the power lines.

Broadway Street NE: Between Pine Street NE and Hickory Street NE June 4 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Broadway Street NE between Pine Street NE and Hickory Street NE will have north bound traffic reduced to one lane. Expect congestion at this location and use another route if possible. This lane closure is for utility work.

Doakes Ferry Road NW: Between Gibson Wood Ct NW and Emerld Dr NW. June 2 to June 6; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lanes of traffic will be narrowed and shifted for a sewer service installation.

Lone Oak Rd SE: Between Mildred Ln SE and Boone Rd SE. June 4 to June 11; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lone Oak Rd SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers for tree trimming around the power lines.

Margarett Street NW: Between West Hills Way NW and Diane Avenue NW. June 4 to June 11; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Street closure for a sewer service replacement.

East Nob Hill Road: Between Judson St SE and Mcgilchrist St SE. June 2 to June 5; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Street closure for a sewer service replacement.
