The above story is about a violent, but run of the mill bank robbery. It has nothing to do with the history of how my country was formed and how it evolved into a place where most everyone on the planet wants to come to. Though I guess for the unschooled, which can be quite obvious, anything that negatively targets are rich history is fair game.

Stan...get some education. Is it insulting to say that in the minds of the Brits, we were terrorists, rebels and thieves? Is it insulting to say that we killed, stole and destroyed in the War for Independence? Because those are the facts. And Daniel is right..we did not go through legal means to get our independence, or we never would have gotten it. The situation is the same today. "Legal" means ineffectual and non-threatening to the powers that be.

Stan: Benedict Arnold was considered a traitor only because he ended up on the losing side. If it had gone the other way, you would not today be revering the memory of George Washington, et al. My intention is not to be insulting, but all the Revolutionaries broke the law as the British had established it. They did not become a new nation by "legal" methods.

Daniel Johnson you said that this type of crime is what America was founded on? Why do you insult us that way Daniel? I served in the military with several Canadians who joined our military and still have excellent relationships with them I couldn't imagine them insulting my country as you just did, but then you are up in Canada. Why not come down to Oregon and we can chat about this matter in person. I realize you are considered staff, but insulting us that way means that Tim King agrees with you. So Tim, let's chat face to face about this insult and talk it out. How's that sound to you?

Tim King: Is that some kind of a veiled threat?

Daniel Johnson July 28, 2009 12:09 pm (Pacific time)

We're going to start seeing more and more of this kind of thing. It's what America was founded on. When there are no other options, you take the law into your own hands. I don't know any background on this situation, but it makes you wonder. If not that, probably drugs.
