Manhunt Underway for Suicidal Man East of Salem

Salem-News.com has learned that Oregon State Police and other agencies are trying to capture what they believe to be a suicidal man in the area of Deer Park Drive SE just east of Salem.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem-News.com has learned that Oregon State Police and other agencies are trying to capture what they believe to be a suicidal man in the area of Deer Park Drive SE just east of Salem.

Police on scene tell Salem-News.com that the man has attempted to jump into traffic on Highway 22 near the Deer Park Drive exit.

The man has eluded police and a current search for the man is underway in the wooded area near the Salem-Keizer Recycling and Transfer Station.

Motorist using Deer Park Drive or Oregon Highway 22 both westbound and eastbound are urged to use caution until this situation is resolved.

The search area is between Deer Park Drive SE and Joseph Street SE.

It is not known if the man is armed or not, and anyone seeing suspicious activity in this area should call 911.
