(MILLERSBURG, Ore. ) - Firefighters and medics of the Jefferson Fire District were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning just after midnight in Millersburg located south of Jefferson. Apparently the driver of an older model Cadillac was traveling north on Old Salem Road, struck a utility pole, breaking it at ground level, and the pole landed on top of the car. According to Lt. Gabe Anderson of the Jefferson Fire District, firefighters and medics had to wait approximately 15 minutes for the power lines to be de-energized before they could rescue the patient. The incident knocked out power in a significant area within Millersburg and Albany. Reach air ambulance was called to transport the patient. Old Salem Road was closed through the night and was expected to open late Sunday afternoon due to the power pole replacement.
