UPDATED! Salem - Polk County Weekly Road Construction Report

Use alternate routes if possible if your commute takes you through one of these workzones.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The City of Salem Public Works Department and the Polk County Department of Public Works wants you to Be Aware! of some upcoming road construction projects this week that could delay your commute.

Please make a note of these projects, and if your commute takes you through one of these workzones, PLEASE! slow down, and expect some delays.

Salem-Area Road Construction Report:

Wednesday - 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the traffic signal at Commercial Street SE and Fairway Street SE / Robins Lane SE will be turned off and controlled with flaggers. This closure is for installation of a new sidewalk. Expect congestion at this location.

Cordon Rd SE Between Gaffin Rd SE and Macleay Rd SE. Monday - 9/10; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Traffic lanes on Cordon Rd SE will be narrowed and shifted. The intersection of Cordon Rd SE and Macleay Rd SE will be controlled by flaggers. Occasionally, the intersection of Gaffin Rd SE and Cordon Rd SE will be controlled by flaggers. Expect delays at these locations.

Sunnyview Rd NE At Fisher Rd NE. Monday - 10/1; 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Traffic will be maintained in both directions, lanes will be narrowed and shifted.

Chemeketa Street NE will be CLOSED to through traffic between Liberty Street NE and Commercial Street NE from 10:00 PM Thursday, July 26, until 7:00 AM Friday, July 27. This closure is for removing a pre-cast panel from the Chemeketa Parkade.

Thursday, July 26, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Turner Road SE between Cascade Gateway Park and 3100 Turner Road SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers. This closure is for utility services. Expect delays in this area.

Polk County Road Construction Report:

Cooper Hollow Road will be CLOSED between Hwy 51 and Fishback Road Monday, July 23. No access will be allowed. Emergency vehicles and all other traffic will need to use alternative routes. This is a culvert replacement project.

Helmick Road will be CLOSED to through traffic from Old Fort Road and Simpson Road Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26. Local access and emergency vehicles will be allowed through. Use alternate routes between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Briarwood Street will be paved Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24. Travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay.

Deepwood Lane will be paved Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24. Travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay.

Michigan City Lane will be paved Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay.

Gooseneck Road will have patch paving on Monday, July 23. Travelers should expect minimal delays.

Oakdale Road will be CLOSED 1.4 miles west of Hwy. 223 Tuesday, July 24 and Wednesday, July 25. No access will be allowed. Emergency vehicles and all other traffic will need to use alternative routes. This is a culvert replacement project and will close the road for 48 hours.

Yamhill River Road will be CLOSED approximately 400 feet west of Oregon Highway Business Route 18 Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27. No access will be allowed. Emergency vehicles and all other traffic will need to use alternative routes. This is a culvert replacement project and will close the road for 48 hours.

Elkins Road will be paved Wednesday, July 25 through Monday, July 30. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay.
