(COLTON, Ore.) - A 15-year old Canby-area girl was critically injured Wednesday morning when the car she was riding in lost control and she was struck by another vehicle on Highway 211 about two miles north of Colton. The car's driver was seriously injured. Police say that today at approximately 5:45 AM, a 1994 Ford Escort four-door station wagon driven by 51-year old Norma Martinez Sanchez of Canby, was northbound on Highway 211 near milepost 23 when it lost control, went off the highway and then came back onto the highway. At that point the car was struck along the passenger side by a southbound 2002 Dodge 2500 pickup driven by 57-year old Charles T. Czajkowski of Estacada. Martinez Sanchez was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU). It is not known yet if she was using safety restraints but her car's airbag did deploy. The Ford's passenger, 15-year old Pamela Vasquez of Canby, was using safety restraints and was critically injured. She was transported by ambulance to OHSU. Czajkowski was using safety restraints and was not injured. Oregon State Police troopers from Portland and Tualatin are continuing the investigation. Colton Fire Department and ODOT assisted at the scene. Articles for July 17, 2007 | Articles for July 18, 2007 | Articles for July 19, 2007 | googlec507860f6901db00.htmlQuick Links
