(ALBANY, Ore.) - Oregon highway department officials in the Willamette Valley say the road has been cleared after a head-on collision has closed US Highway 20 at mile post 4 earlier today. US Highway 20 has now reopened between mileposts 4 and 5 after a head-on collision. Officials say drivers should expect some delays while traffic flows return to normal. Oregon State Police described the incident on Highway 20 east of Sweet Home, as a serious injury crash. OSP also reports that LifeFlight has been activated. OSP troopers say they are also on the scene of a second injury crash. This incident is on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 237 in the Albany area. The southbound lanes of the freeway at that location are blocked and tow trucks are enroute to this crash. There is not a count of how many patients may be involved. Highway officials ask drivers to please take alternate routes, if possible. They say that at this time, there is no current estimate on when the highway will reopen.
